The Aints No More/The Weekly Blitz
Last season, the New Orleans Saints were wading in water; not only from the catastrophic flood from Katrina but also from another under achieving season.
However, this offseason the waters begin to recede. Jim Haslett was replaced with Sean Payton, Aaron Brooks was replaced with Drew Brees and they drafted one of the most electrifying players in NCAA history, Reggie Bush.
Now, heading into their Bye week, the Saints are 5-1 after their last second win against the Eagles 27-24, stamping their place among the elites of the NFC.
The Saints aren’t the Aints anymore.
More NFL Tidbits…
- G-Rated…Tampa Bay stunned Cincinnati 14-13 for their first win of the season. It was also win #1 for rookie Buccaneer quarterback Bruce Gradkowski (25-44, 184 yards, 2 TDs)
- Lion-Strong…Detriot’s 20-17 win over the Bills ensured them of a non winless season. With the performance of Jones (127 yards rushing, 1 TD) and Williams (161 yards receiving, 1 TD), maybe Martz is on to something.
And finally: VY threw for one score and showed excellent command in the pocket as he, and the Titans, gets win number one over the Redskins 25-22.![]()
